Default J32a2 Idle Problem

Allright.. Heres whats happening, as car idles it will rev up and down.. and it will throw a code up and trip my computer and it will not let me pass 5500rpm. It will act as if the car isnt in gear.

The things i did to try and fix this is I changed the IAC to fix the rev problem and it kind of fixed it but once in a while it will come back and idle like it did before. Also im able to drive car to 6500rpm now but when i make a complete stop and try to start off again it wont let me pass 5500rpm... So i would have to turn the car off and back on again to have it back to normal.

Anyone got any ideas?

Need to confirm that there are no vaccum leaks, throttle cable is not too tight and valves are adjusted properly "first". New IAC is a great starting point. The IAC is adjustable, you just have to remove the safty tamper screws on the side, replace them with philips head screws (so you can tighten as needed). Then rotate the valve, with the new screws loosly installed, until the desired idle is meet. then you just retighten the screws (not too tight) don't forget the adjustable part is plastic.

The high idle is probobaly not related to the 5500 rpm rev limit. This sounds more like the ECU going into limp mode. Need to know which ECU, engine (manual or auto), which harness and which transmission. If you can answer these questions then we can better help you resolve your problem.

There are no vacuum leaks thats the first thing i looked for but i dont have an adjustable iac but it idles at 700 when warm...I got a J32a2 with a manual accord transmission and a cl-s computer(auto) and a cl harness

I cant really see what code the computer is its kind of scratched all I see is #####-PGE-###

Your Rotary Air Control valve is indeed adjustable just not from the facory. But considering the idle returns to normal when the engine warms up. could still be a vaccum leak. As the engine heats up, gaskets can expand and seal off "leaks".

i believe part of your problem is the ecu if you are using the cl type s auto ecu. if im not mistaken don told me that the type s ecu looks for the tiptronic system and throws everything off. i had a type s auto ecu and switched to a cl base model ecu and could tell a difference. however that probably wont help your idle just may fix your limp mode problem

The idle problem I fixed =) I found a cracked vacuum line of the fuel pressure regulator it was just hard to see beacuse it was a very slight leak..but i still have the rev problem...I got both the cl base model ecu and the cl-s ecu when i put the base model it revs to 5200rpm and type s is 5500rpm. Both only go into limp mode after i make a complete stop.

Also its an accord harness on there not a cl harness i just noticed i wrote cl in the first post

mine goes into limp mode with both i just remember noticing a difference when i switched em. at the moment i have no idea why mine goes into limp mode i havent had time to try and mess with it in quite a while

best i remember i have six codes : automatic transaxle failure, secondary 02 sensor, shift solenoid, automatic transmission fluid warmer, the pcm failure or whatever it is for taking the immobilizer out, and something to do with drive 3 i think
