ok, so I have been trying to decide if the J32a2 really is a better engine (for me) over the j35a4. I should note that I am not going to be racing the motor; it will my by DD. However, I would like to play with it a little, especially getting on the freeway, so I would like to have a good bit of power (hence the swap).
One thing that really piqued my interest is this write up that Honda Tuning did a while ago (I am sure the majority of you know which one I am talking about) that had the j35a4 putting out 267hp with just a CAI?! that seems pretty crazy since it was rated at 240 from the factory... How does the j32a2 compare to this with just a CAI? is it near the factory 260, or is it upwards of 275-280? Just curious... here is a link to the page with the info Last edited by basil; 02-08-2010 at 02:13 AM. |

Sorry, I meant CAI and headers. I dont think they had much more than a stock sized piping though I could be wrong about that. They did mention that when they used 2.5 inch piping it went down to 258 hp... Either way, I am still quite surprised that since the Odyssey motor was rated for 240 hp (at the crank?) that with a header, and CAI it made at least 27 more hp, negating drive-train losses.
I do believe they used a stock ECU considering that they state that they only modifications were the intake and header... Either way, how would the J32a2 compare with just the intake and header? Does anyone have a setup that uses the J32a2 with intake and header? |

Here is what I posted on another forum. Have it on the last page of my build thread as well.
