View Full Version : Mil-Spec Harness Circular Connectors 37 & 57 Pin

I have a handful of these on hand and will only use one for my project. I'm asking $35 for the 57 Pin and $30 for the 37 pin shipped anywhere in the US or $45 anywhere in the world; always willing to negotiate trades and such.

Because these have wires already crimped in you can splice your own harness on with solder and shrink tube: should be easier and cheaper than buying the special crimping tool usually required to complete your own harness.

Note: The males side of the 57 pin connector has 44 wires and more can be added (obviously up to 57) whereas the female side/ panel mount side has all 57 wires. The count on the 37 pin connector has 21 wires on the male side and 37 on the female/panel mount. UPDATE: These will ship with the extra pins and wires necessary to fill the plug up to 57 wires! Also, we now have 62 pin connectors with female plugs and male receptacles.

Just wanted to add some extra pictures and info to give a better idea of what you are getting. These are going like hotcakes in the other forums we have them posted in.

To add extra wires all you need are the wires and some solder, all of the pins are there. Although they are both crimp style pins (Tyco crimper part #'s 601966-1, 91515-1, and 601966-5 for the die on the first crimper) you shouldn't have any trouble doing it this way. The smaller pins on the 57 pin connector can be removed if you remove the insert, and the openings on the 37 pin are large enough to just drip solder inside.

The extraction tool for the large pins on the 37 pin connector is tyco part # 305183. The pins picture (in the 57 pin connector) are p/n 1-66103-8 and the larger pins that you will need the extraction tool to remove (because the body is 1-piece, no insert to remove like the 57 pin) are p/n 205089-1.

37 Pin Receptacle is p/n 206306-1
37 Pin Plug is p/n 206305-1
57 Pin Receptacle is p/n 206438-1
57 Pin Plug is p/n 206437-1

I wouldn't use them if you are planning on submerging the connector but for general use, including being exposed to water spray, they are fine. First of all, the male side is keyed to the receptacle and that clearance is pretty tight, so for any moisture to reach the pins at that point it would have to not just get past the threading; it would have to then reverse direction and move 3/4" past that angle and then reverse direction to make the same trip down the underside. Secondly, sheathing the plug side should take care of moisture control on that end and the other is in the cabin. Plus, theere are no exposed wires, only pins which are individually isolated in the plug.

Granted they are not designed to be waterproof, but with the above precautions I wouldn't hesitate to run a hose over the connector while the car is running.

yeah i would not thinking about submerging them, but more the fact of being able to mount it on the firewall, and having them sealed tight (i am thinking of how the OE connectors have rubber plugs on them), so that any water that does get to it, does not corrode the connectors

"Mil-Spec Harness Circular Connectors 37 & 57 Pin"

It could have been titled better, but for the record; it doesn't say Mil-Spec circular connector: it says Mil-Spec HARNESS circular connector.

Not everyone identifies the term "mil-spec" with a sealed military specificaton connector. Some identify it with bulkhead receptacle and plug for the main harness, which is all I was trying to communicate.

Wasn't trying to mislead anyone; I just figured that was the best terminology to give forum members an idea of what's inside the post.

Yeah.. I think people automatically associate those round connectors with "mil spec" when in reality, nothing Mil Spec is needed on a civilian vehicle haha. These pieces should work fine and are priced right!

They are "Mexico Mil-Spec" haha

AMP is perhaps the best know, most well respected, name in the world of electical connectors; they're a division of Tyco Electronics.

I forgot to mention; the pins in the connector are in fact Mil-Spec gold plated.
