Ok so on anotehr local forum, a girl wants to trade me her j swap for my H2B for better ease at boost, which suits me because im a NA guy.
I have a few questions though.
She has a j35 an j30, no clue on a1234 whatever, should I know what they are for a specific reason?
1st gen mounts
6 speed trans
ecu(unsure which one) is there a specific ecu I need?
axles(hasport I think)
turbo manifolds ( i wont be using lol)
NO HARNESS
what else will i need to get this thing running? I want to be sure what im getting into before I attempt this uglyass swap lol.
Oh and do I have to remove my trans mount off the frame?

you definatly need the wiring harness. sounds like you will just have a few small things to get along the way. you will have to reomove the passenger side mount. the egj1 mount kit has good clearance under the car.

this is what he has
1. J30a4, 53,000 miles2. J35a1, around 95,000 miles3. Accord 6 speed manual transmission--came off the J30a4, same as the tl type s, just a LOT cheaper.4. Honda Odyssey ECU, immobilizer is already removed5. Shift linkages, and shift box6. Turbo manifolds for the J30a47. Acura CL Type S engine harness

The j30 and j35a1 don't have alot of power compared to a j35a4 or j32a2. One plus side is your engine would be manual already. If you get an engine I listed ubove you'll more than likely need to spend money to convert it to manual. On the second list you didn't list the mounts or axles again. So that's a $800+ difference from the first list of parts. The engine harness being from a -s doesn't make it better. It's the type s ecu you want. Oddesey ecus are plentiful. And anyone can pull an imobilizer. $40 will get you the cables and shifter from a junkyard.
I'm not saying not to trade. Just giving you the facts.

Yea ive basically decided NOT to trade. I will conquer this swap but I wont be giving up my baby to do so. Atleast not after doing more research. I dont want a j35 since they sticka mile out of the hood. A j32 seems to be more along the lines of what im looking for.
Also their swap is More thrown together and still needing valuable parts that I really dont feel like spending MORE money on. Had it been a complete swap or ONLY needing the harness from rywire I would have done it.
The axles they were tryin to say were some oem axles and id have to convert them myself which is a PITA sometimes. and the ecu I wouldnt use, nor the axles, nor their shifter crap.

Actually it's not thrown together. I also have the type s ecu, hasport axles and the harness which I bought from rywire, they just were not going to be included in the trade.
