So I am just getting ready to start piecing together this swap.. I have found 2 engines, a Tl type s j32a2 and a Odyssey J35a? 4 i believe.. I read they share the same head? is that true? And what is the deal with the 1inch plate on the head or something? Is that going to cause a larger hood hole?

For the trans, I am having a real hard time finding a 6spd lsd, but have found some accord 6 spds.. Has anyone ever come up with a aftermarket lsd, or can u purchase one from acura and install it into the non lsd accord transmission?

As far as ecu and wiring.. The ecu must match the trans? is that correct? and the harness must match the engine?

Tuning - is megasquirt the best option still? I can make my harness myself I am sure, but the immobilizer I am concerned with.. And I am confused on how to bypass that part, I read something about getting the key for the car with the ecu? Is that correct?

I really appreciate the help, I know all this is already discussed but Just trying to make sure I have things correct before I actually buy anything!

Oh one more thing, I notice most use theJ32a2 over the j35 - is that the recommended swap? I like the idea of the extra displacement seeing how I should get more torque, but it appears the j32 numbers, at least OEM off the bat are better?

Thanks again!

Derek

I'm just going by what I've read so other people might have better input but I think I'll be fairly acurate. Most people say it's better to remove the spacer but I've read threads were people dyno them and it doesn't add power but does change the power band.
I think the 32a2 has one mm bigger valves.
J35a4 sleeves are said to be weaker. So the crank in the j32 is better.
Ive been told by good sources that the j35a4 crank is forged!
I read part numbers on the two trannys are the same so I don't think they make an aftermarket LSD but you can buy one from Honda and have it put in.
The accord trannys are known to go bad so replace the syncroes while youre at it.
The imobilizer can be yanked right out but it will throw a code. There's a thread on it in the vendor/rpmsystems forums.
That's all I got for now.

Sorry about that. Blame my iPhone for that one.

I understand completely... Damn iPhones lol love it.

If u go with the j32a2 tl-s it'll be automatic (that's what I have) so u will need the same harness. The sensors are different from the auto to manual. I believe u will want to use the same ecu, but everyone seems to like the cl-s 6spd ecu.... From what I've read. I'm a little hazy on alot of details and I read these threads ALL DAY. Good luck in finding more info.

ALSO YOU CAN USE THE TL S MOTOR AUTO AND THE HONDA ACCORD TRANNY 6MT YOU NEED THE AUTO WIRE HARNESS FROM THE TL S THE ONLY THING IS YOUR CAR WILL RUN ON LIMP MODE ALL THE TIME AND ITS ONLY GONNA REV UP TO LIKE 5800 RPMS CUZ THE COMPUTER IS GONNA BE ON PARKING

So how do I go about getting it out of limp mode then? I seen the thread you posted 1sicktl thanks... And the thread op stated soon to have a chip.. Is there a way to do this right now?

Thanks for all the help!

Also above someone stated I can add a honda LSD... So your saying I can buy the type s lsd and put in the accord 6 spd transmission?

Thanks again!

My thoughts:

I would recommend going 6MT right from the get go, with everything. 6MT engine, trans, harness, ECU. Then it's guaranteed to work, there is no "limp mode" and it's more reliable. Ask some other guys on here. After going with the auto setup for a while, YOU WILL switch to 6MT. It will cost you less money to just go with the 6MT from the start.

If you want to put an LSD in an Accord trans, it can be done no problem, but it will cost you big time. If I remember correctly, a new LSD unit from Honda is $1100. You could buy a CL-S 6MT trans for that much, in amazing condition.

I am 90% done my CL-S 6MT parts scavenging. I looked around A LOT, found some good deals and also had some bad luck buying parts but I am still under $2200 CDN.

You have to change all the sensor on the motor from auto to the manual motors and run the 6 speed ecu and wire harness in order to get it out of limp mode I never had that problem cuz ma set up is from a 2003 cls 6 speed. Everything came out of the same car even the antitheft system fromthe same car was wired into ma car along with the obd2 port. About the chip the computers are not flashable only the honda oddesey is flashable as far as I know

Hope this helps a lil

u have to change the tdc sensors, the front backing plate that holds the tdc sensors, the front cam gear, the ckp sensor, you need the cl s trans or bell housing to use the secondry crank sensor, the cl s flywheel, the cl manual ecu and harness

i think thats it. you can get the ckp sensor, backing plate, tdc sensors, front cam gear, secondary crank sensor that goes in the bell housing from acuraoemparts.com for a lil under 400 bucks i think
