My mind was wondering on and on at work today. I had a thought, what if you took one original neat idea and put it with another?

Some of you may not be familiar with the rt4wd set up BUT here is a what I can tell you. The rear crossmember and frame on these are stronger and bigger than a normal civic so I would have a solid mounting point. (no need to weld in a front frame of a EF) The rear spindle/hubs are designed to accept a cv-shaft.

I know I need to do some research but hey its a idea.

why not just convert the entire pilot drive train or MDX.

a 09 tl which is also al wheel drive thats what i was thinking of doing next year a 91 si hatch with that same awd set up from the wagon and a j37 awd swap from the 09 tl

It's doable but Honda's awd system is fwd biased and I couldn't imagine the headache with all the sensors added to the additional drivetrain.
I would be almost easier to do a evo swap.

I 100% support this sort of tuner insanity. Love it, love it, love it.

How will you weight down the front end?

Why not an s2K rear end.

Well you wouldn't really need to. the motor will sit more in the middle anyway because FWD's have their weight in front of the axels. Also the radiator will stay up front, driver will add weight to the front/middle, and the fuel tank will need to be moved to the front. (under hood)

Why not an s2K rear end.
Because this is simply using the V6 fwd drivetrain in the rear of a car. If I used a s2000/240 rear end I will have to fab up a wider tunnel/ front crossmember for the longitudinal engine and tranny.

The front engine/front wheel drive -----> mid engine/ rear wheel drive is a easier set up. Less fab work.

I have been thinking about this though, I don't know if I want to just go hacking into my minty wagon. I might want to look for a trashed out wagon or maybe go with a CRX.

I think it would be most appealing in the CRX. I can picture it under the rear hatch glass already.

Most cars that are converted to MR like this end up having moderate to severe understeer problems due to a lack of weight on the front end.

For the gas tank in the frunk (as we call them in the MR2 world...Front Trunk) be sure it's mounted as far back as possible. For an optimum moment of inertia you want a little weight as possible overhanging the wheels.
