So i'm not sure if anyone else may have encountered this problem yet but if you have your hood cut and it rains you may get it sooner or later.

i've asked in another thread about what belongs here/bolts into these 3 holes above the starter hole on the J32a2 tranny:

Now i know water has found its way in there. I daily drive my J32 integra in new england. rain/sleet/snow whatever it may be. When my tranny mount failed and the car sat for bout a week, water accumulated in the clutch housing, because those holes are exposed. During the winter of course this water froze overnight and engine wouldn't crank. after letting it defrost it started up and water was pouring out of those holes. it's been a couple of months now, and i notice the clutch start to slip more and more. Lately i've been seeing some dark fluid around those holes and the slave cylinder. It looks like hydraulic clutch fluid, but i'm not sure if it's mixed with the honda MTF. there's no sign of it in the engine side as my engine oil is still pretty golden yellow, doesn't look to be contaminated.

So, could it be some seals in my tranny letting go? #s 17 and 18 in this picture below are oil seals.

Anyone who has a transmission apart in front of them or works for honda/acura and has dealt with these, how difficult is it to replace those seals?

The input shaft seal #18 is installed from the inside(requires disassembly).
#17 looks like anaxle seal.

If ruptured, the input shaft seal can leak mtf out onto the release bearing then into the pressure plate which may sling it onto the clutch housing( fluid coming from holes). double check your slave cylinder, rear main seal and oil pan gasket before you tear down the trans.

my first thought would have been the rear main seal, but my oil doesn't look contaminated and the fluid/residue near those holes looks more like clutch fluid.

i will be replacing the oil pan soon as well anyway as the drain plug was stripped so i'll inspect what i can...

there's no winning with a j swap..

Are you loosing fluid from your clutch resivoir?

No, at least not to the point it's noticable. It seems like more has leaked out of and onto the tranny than i have possibly lost through the reservoir.

I used some short bolts to plug these holes. you have highlighted on the original post.
