After spending countless hours here and copying and pasting information into a
word document I have come to the conclusion that we need to put together something
to make our swaps go more smoothly.

I have used forums like this as an aid for several other projects I have participated in
combined with my mechanical background it was done with much confidence and success.

I would like to see a forum added that includes all the steps and parts
list compiled to complete the J-Swap in ef, eg, ek etc.......

A make-shift instruction manual if you will....

Included in this forum could be suggestions, experienced bumps in the road
etc...

Just brain storming here please add ideas to this

I agree completely and have been wanting to do it for a while now but i am just too busy with school right now to put the time in to do it. If other people want to start gathering info i can create subforums for it.

Yeah Im still waitin for the complete write up from Brian at HP on the Ef swap.
I'm sure it will be detailed instructions. So far there's a nice handfull of info on Ef but there's alot of gaps. I'll keep waiting lol.
But i know there is ALOT of info on the eg swap, and I'm sure the ek swap is easier but there still isn't a whole lot of info on that yet either.
But I definatly like where this thread is going.

I completely agree. This site does cover a lot of the info, but there are holes.

A complete parts list, starting with the type of motor you have would be best. I am certainly a victim of purchasing incorrect parts for a build because I was unable to find enough info on it.

Compatibility charts, engines vs. transmissions vs. wiring vs. ECU's

Options: Homemade jumper harness, or bought, how difficult it will be, diagrams.

Sure, a lot of the above mentioned is here, but scattered. Hunting through the entire site., finding what you need and copying it into a word document. That works, but it should be in one place for us (and future members) to reference on a regular basis if needed. We can all work together.

If an experienced person who has done a particular swap shares there info, challenges, accidents, etc it will help everyone else.

Ben,
I am not sure what proper etiquette is for these things, but
what do you think about setting up a sub-forum on here when your
semester is over for this. In the mean time maybe we can all throw parts list
experience and whatever else has been mentioned on this thread?
I am sure others such as myself are willing to compile all the information posted per swap-type.

1994 Civic Hatch with complete 2003 CL-S 6spd (engine, trans, harness, ecu)

parts:
EGJ1 mount kit
EGJAX axles
2003 CL-S 6spd(LSD) trans
3003 Accord v6 clutch kit
2003 CL-s Egine
2003 CL-S harness
2003 CL-S ECU (imob removed)
1994 Civic engine harness
2003 Acoord V6 shifter base
2003 Accord v6 shifter cables
Had to relocate large shift arm pin location for Accord shifter/cables
API shifter box for the tunnel
API harness. I sent him the CL-S harness and the Civic harness (2 weeks)
Comptech Headers (fiber wrapped to cut down on heat)
98 Accord 4cyl upper radiator hose (cut to fit)
Reused hot water valve hoses
Relocated and upgraded radiator to a Quad-core from Black Works/with 14" fan.
Re used the fuel feed line DX
Had to make retrn line longer
Custom Starter cable to battery
2003 CL-S charge cable from ALT to battery
Custom 2.5" out the back from the collector
Reused clutch hard lines, just rebent them and relocated the hard line holder
2003 CL-S clutch soft line (bolts directly to Civic hard line after relocation)
API haness required 1 power 1 ground , tach signal andspeedo signal.
The harness unaltered is long enough for ecu to be mounted at the stock civic location or to be moved to the tunnel under the dash.
Alignment was alterd with new ly added weight (4 wheel alignment needed)
Brakes were upgraded to ITR calipers (milled) and 94 Lude VTEC rotors w/98 Accord V-6 front pads. (highly rcommended)

Parts Sources:
Beavers Honda Concord, NC http://beavershondasalvage.com/
API ArizonaperformanceImports http://www.arizonaperformanceimports.com/
Black works radiator and fan http://www.jhpusa.com/
Misc parts http://www.car-part.com/
Brakes BrakeExpert at http://honda-tekh.com/

Both the radiator and the clutch slave cylinder hard line have to be relacated to the drivers side.

Basically you have to cut a hole big enough to slide the accord shifter base through the center tunnel. bolts through existing holes. supposed to be able to retain stock trim and the much needed beer/cup holder and the the civic shifter boot.....

Factory fuel feed line and coolant hose to water valve is the flipped DX one that went originally to the head

This is what I could remember (from the hip)

Hope this helps

Excellent post very informative(that's what I was looking for)

I'll be using the 01 CL-S Auto Engine and ECU and most likely Accord transmission.

That is main difference between our swaps.

I am still torn on the engine mounts.
I see you are using the 1st gen mounts.
How low does the oil pan sit compared to the subframe?
I am worried the 2nd Gens will sit too low, even at the highest settings.

Can you send me or post a couple pictures of you intake sticking out the hood.
I live and PA and it is really not an option to have the engine exposed to the environment. As a result I will need to find a universal hood scoop or make one.
