Run down of car:
01 ITR, 03 Cl-S 6spd swap w/6spd ECU. 09 3.7TL manifold, P2R adapter plate w/OEM gaskets, not thermal ones.
Okay so ive been having a stubborn idle issue im stumped on now. The car idle surges. (usuall like 900rpm-3300rpm-ish).
What ive done:
-Idle learn procedure, about 5 times, same.
-Replaced IACV stupidly with a new OEM honda one.
-And im POSITIVE all the coolant is bled. lol
-No Air Leaks either.
I can put a finger over the upper hole ( computer controlled idle portion) and the car idles perfect. (which obviously makes me assume the computer is adjustting for something) Pinning out the IACV connector yields good ground/batt voltage, and apporx a 8.5-9.5V signal. Upon start up, it revs up slowly (once) to around 3-33k or so and then starts surging.
I am completly STUMPED! Anyone that has ANY insight, it would be appreciatied more than you even know.
Thanks
Andrew
Do you have a scan tool that reads IACV counts?

Do you have a scan tool that reads IACV counts?
Yes i do. When i held the idle at around 2800 to do the idle learn it was 9 or 19 cross counts steady. ( cant remember which)
what codes are you throwing?

what codes are you throwing?
None currently. If i drive it a bit it will come up with a P0505 Idle Circuit, pending code.
And what happens when you plug the bottom port?

And what happens when you plug the bottom port?
Idle lowers a very small amount on cold only (hardly noticible)
hm. I'm going to keep looking into this. Maybe some others can chime in. Interesting indeed.

Thanks. Im completly lost on this one too. ANY help would be amazing.
I know one guy on here had a tiny vaccum leak. I've seen many different things ranging from a bad/stuck IACV to the P2r spacer causing the problem. Try throwing your stock mani on if you still have it and see if it continues. That will at least help you narrow it down a bit.

I dont think its a vaccum leak. Ive triple checked ALL the gaskets a few times as well as spraying sudsy water on them. I dont think its the IACV as the car i got the swap from was wrecked, but ran perfect and i put on a BNIB sealed OEM honda IACV. And stupid me, sold my stock manifold :(
I have a stock mani you can borrow if you want to test. You just pay shipping.

Anyone familar with how the Honda Scan tool programs/ adjusts/ sets idle? Possible chance that maybe that could fix the problem. The idle learn "procedure" just isnt working for me after trying it a few times.
Note, that i dont have EVAP stuff hooked up as well as PSP switch.

The Iacv on the bottom of the t-body is adjustable. You have to remove the tamper-proof screws and install ones that you can tighten and loosen. rotate the valve until you get you desired Idle and then tighten the newly installed screws. I had to do this on mine until I found my vaccum leak. pray the throttle body and its spacer down real good with brake or throttlr body cleaner, that is where my leak was. Iused a j30 gasket on a j32 t-body.

Well i found out FINALLY whats wrong. PWR neglects to mention that you need to use the Thermal plastic hard gaskets. The upper left port in the throttle body sucked air between the gasket and throttle body(CL). I ended up plugging the Left port for air (its for the upper hose fitting and idle adjust screw) Anyhow car runs and idles perfect.
