There are three magnets that needs to be pressed in and the sensor sits right where in adjustable screws need to be. Plus the auto has a different cam gear then the 6sd and a different reading sensor.

Not sure, but this does sound like a fun project. sometimes I wish I had a machine shop out back. I thought I remembered someone talking about making them over on V6 performnace.net. Can't remember. I don't really see the advantage unless you using aftermarket cams and need to find true TDC.

that the auto cam gear
the 4 indents on the right pulley is whats getting in the way from making them adjustable.

the guy with the adjustable ones probably has some sort of standalone ems. thats the only thing i can think of that would allow you to disregard the magnets and how they work with the ecu

cam gear has no magnets. i check and a paper clip doesnt stick to it. its just indented. and hes running a stand alone on that car. dont know what kind

The sensor is the magnet BTW. AS the raised or lowered section of the cam gear passes by the sensor it creats a break in the signal.

To make adjustable cam gears you would have to move the sensor to the outside of the cam gear.

If you look at the drag car thats how they are designed.

Honestly alot of BS.

Only thing you can do is degree keys. But this would change the sensor reading and alot of other bs.

Actualy. If the toothed part of the gear had sections on it with steel pieces in it and we moved the sensor to the outside it would work.
