Got these from parts Dept. today here are some pics and prices. pretty cheap for over the counter. DIY remove and replace with OE parts. Aluminum EGR block off plate from 07 Si.

My camera needs to be replaced sorry. The first two parts #s on therecepit are the plate and the gasket the bottom two are rings and head gaskets for my build.

Is there a way to delete the EGR and avoid the resulting code(s)

Won't this throw off the ability for the ECU to eliminate knocking?

I didn't really have a choice, My EGR plug was remove from my harness. "knock" may increase, but the Knock sensor should let the ECU know what's going on. Plus the EGR is not an issue at WOT. Mainly used under light to medium load and given the weight of most of these swaps there won't be a whole lot of "lugging" or the use of fuel less than 92 octane. You are correct though the EGR does help reduce combustiuon chamber temps. Mostly for emmisions to eliminate the production of NOx (Oxides of Nitrogen) which if I am not mistaken are one of those harmful "Greenhouse" gases.

Nicely put.

Why was the EGR plug removed from the harness? You mean the wiring was entirely removed from the loom?

My harness cam with this plug broken, Tim removed the wires completely when the harness was apart . Its a track car and I do my own emmision inspections. Not a big deal for me.
I was just giving some of you guys OE options for blocking the EGR. Paint it, powder coat it, get a dremel and write your name. Its aluminum and there is no silly logo on it.

Do you have a code because of it? If not how did you get around that?

Yes, I do have a code, but once again there are no adverse affect on engine performance. Jus an emissions related code, "no limp mode" Unlike the tranny code you may get from an auto ECU. Where the ECU thinks there is a trans issue (IE unsafe under certain conditions) and the ecu gives a power loss to save hard parts (engine assy and transmission). Also keeps customer from causing further damage to said hard parts.

You gained credibility with me on that.... :) It's NOT nitrogen oxides...

Thanx, I am only slightly smarter than I spell.

We also make a EGR block off plate if anyone is looking for a pretty one. Ours is about $10 more than the honda one.

just leaving the valve plugged in and out of the way should eliminate most codes associated with removing egr, may still set a p0401 flow code but thats a maybe, and still just an emissions code.
