View Full Version : After having my turbo setup jacked I'm looking to go J32

I have a RHD DC that I want to j32 swap. I want to use the CL S tranny.

My questions:
What is out there for tuning?
Are these a return fuel system motor?
Is anyone making internals for the j32?
How much boost can these motors take?
How much power will the Type S 6 speed support?
What are the weak points with these motors (sleeves, valve train, etc.)

There's a lot more to come. I'm just getting started. I need to sell my built GSR motor to start collecting parts.

To answer a few of these...

Tuning... Hondata isnt in the processs of making anything for v6 motors yet... if if they do.... we wouldnt see it hit the streets for at least 3 years...
I am running a full aem standalone system... which was worth it to me.. seen a guy running a motec with an m&w setup... was a pretty sick setup.. involved a hell of a lot of wiring..

There are only a few companies making internals for j-series motors those companies are hard to track down... pm me and i will let yu know a few places ive gotten internals... and arp actually has head studs and so on which really suprised me...

stock i wouldnt push more than about 9psi on a j-series had a few problems of my own trying to run higher boost on stock blocks mainly with the pistons... the biggest weak point for me but then again i am running a j35 so who knows what problems other guys are having...

and as far as how much power the trans can support.... i have yet to see anyone max one of those out... and when yu do there are a few companies out there that make adapters to use other transmissions... ive only seeen them used in sandrails thus far... but when theres a will there a way to get it in your honda right...

think i got them all

Tuning... Hondata isn't in the process of making anything for v6 motors yet... because they have not took the idea from someone else yet and called it there own.

don
rpm systems

if you look though the web site you will find about 90% of all your answers.....read and learn

that is the way things tend to happen with them eyy....

Honestly, your best bet is to go full standalone with the tuning. I know it is expensive, but in the long run, it really is worth it.

I'm using an AEM EMS 1060 box in a J30 sandrail.

So heres the update. I have a buddy that works at Honda. He replaced the motor in an Odessy that had a bent valve. They let him keep the motor. He's selling it to us for $200. My question is, would j30 valvetrain fit in a j35? I found aftermarket valvetrain for the j30 but nothing else. If I'm gonna pull one head, I might as well pull both heads and build them. So valve train is needed.

And for the guy that asked about specs on the old GSR motor.

B18c block
CP 9:1 81.5 pistons
Eagle rods with 1/2" rod bolts
Raceeng block guard

Full Lasky Racing GSR head (this is the last head Earl built before he passed away)
Supertech full valve train and valves
Lasky P&P with combution chambers reworked
valve guides done
ITR cams (I might keep these and sell it with B16 cams)
bla bla bla

JDM GSR tranny w/LSD

Maybe contact KMS about the valvetrain?

What kind of power did you make on the old setup? i want that intake manifold lol

Haha. The intake manifold was beautiful. It was very hard to part with but it's gone. I heard they are back in production.

It never made it to the dyno. We had it running for one day before the turbo setup was taken. Luckly the intake wasn't on. We were waiting to put it in the RHD car till we out it on. When everything was taken it was in his DD 94 teg SE. But with about an hour of street tuning that car was fuckin fast. I loved how fast the BB turbo spooled.

OK so the J35 is here. Still looking for a TL S tranny. I'll get pics up at some point. Anyone have a line on a TL tranny?

What parts internals from a j32 head will work in a j35a1?
