I have seen/heard alot of talk about cams. I would like to start this thread off with some technical questions.

I am looking for OE and aftermarket cam specs.
Production year?
Engine code: ? (helps locate cams used)
Lift? primary /secondary/mid
duration? primary/secondary/mid
centerline? (for use with adjustable cam gears If available)
Any information might aid others in choosing a cam profile to better suit one build from the next.

Does anyone have any information on non-OE cams? I don't prefer regrinds but I doubt there is much more out at this time.

I was a tester for a set of cams in my manual J32A2. They were regrinds from Webb cams and they were horrible. I had no way to advance the cams since there is no adjustable cam pulley for the J32A2 in mass production yet. It cut my power in half with and without my supercharger. I reinstalled the OEM Cams and all power came back. I have dyno results. I dont know if they would have done any better with an adjustable cam pulley. If I can find the cam spec sheet I will post it if you are interested.

Never liked the Idea of regrinds. Most qaulity cams are heat treated and coated. Once you remove the coating during the "regrind" process, you have altered the cams reliability.
Just my $.02 ..

No Vtec just 1 big ass cam. I think the "killer cams" delete the vtec aspect of it.

i know, but u would have a bigger lobe through out the whole rpm range rather than just above 47-4800rpm

When does vtec actually ingage for you guys? Does it differ depending on the ecu???

Really hard to tell on account of my exhaust is loud and the tach is still high.

Any more info/updates on cam options or more oem specs? Wat cams are we able to use in the J35's and J32's because I've been reading that there is actually a few cams that are roughly 3MM longer then others and only fit in certain heads. I'm with WOLY on the whole regrind option but I plan on runnin at nitrous and need a cam with a high duration lift with minimal valve overlap. And has anyone been able to find a company making adjustable cam gears yet?

u need to have cams custom made. i thing webcam or something like that has made a set for a member over on azine. cant remember how much he paid but power was noticed. regrinds dont work for u. its been tried, and major power lose

Bisimoto does not list them on their website, but I spoke with one of their guys a few weeks ago and he said they could now do J series cams from billet cores; not regrinds.

I'm curious to see some more solid info on the failed regrinds you guys are talking about. Where they Bisimoto regrinds or P2R? I find it hard to believe that a Bisimoto product was installed and cut someone's power in half.

Jproy (I think that's how u spell his un on azine) had regrinds, not from p2r or bisimoto. It was a few year back.

Spoolinspoon on azine has the 07-08 tl-s cams and the lobes just barely clear the head. Not much room to work with in ours head unless u start milling/ grinding. Ill take a few pics when I get home of my cl-s head and cam clearence
