View Full Version : Is this a manual or auto harness?

Bought this harness from another member. The CKP plugs are missing from what I can tell. Does anyone have any input?

All the plugs on the trans hooked up no problem so I figured it was cool. When I got to the timing side that's where things didn't look so good.

The engine is manual and so is the trans. All factory, never taken apart.

It's a J32A3 from an '05 TL.

The harness is apparently a manual from an '03 CL-S. The ECU is also supposed to be from the same vehicle.

Do I have the correct ECU?

Pics.

how many plugs do you have to plug into the ecu off of the main engine harness?

There are 3 plugs on the ecu.

There are 2 plugs off the main loom from the engine bay.

The other plug is the cut one you can see in the pictures.

What? Are you for real? Sorry I guess I expected a more defined answer than that. My post is specific, I expect the same in return.

I know it's not plug and play. I asked if it was manual or auto. But thanks for comin out.

u have a manual harness if there are only two plugs coming off it and manual ecu if there are only three plug-ins on it . you just have to make the adapter harness which it looks like you are in the process of doing what you will have is fine as long as the engine came out of a manual car aswell. if it came out of an automatic car then you are going to have some major issues.

Dude. Thank you. That's everything I needed to know summed up quite nicely. My engine is manual. I guess there is a sub harness for the CKP sensors? I have the TL harness and I can cut off the required plugs and make my own sub harness.

Thanks again, this takes a load off my mind.

Ok so your saying there are two sensors down at the crank? I know the one behind the front cam and there is a 3 wire plug for that one. There are 6 wires on the other plug so I guess there are 2 Sensors down at the crank. Am I right?

no theres one at the crank(ckp sensor) and two behind the front cam pulley(tdc sensors)

check these pages and you should be able to figure out wat im talking about:

www.acuraoemparts.com select cl then 2003 then 2drsport then KA6MT where it says engine type then click search and then click on oil pump-oil strainer
#39 is the ckp sensor, #40 is the ckp subharness

www.acuraoemparts.com select cl then 2003 then 2drsport then KA6MT where it says engine type then click search and then click on timing belt cover
#21 is the tdc sensors(2) and #22 is the tdc subharness

first off i would say take some pic off the wiring harness that would plug up to the trans not just random ass pic off the wiring harness and ecu.

Are you squared away or do you need further assistance?

the plugs and harness look like they are for the 03 cl type-s since there are only 2 plugs from the engine harness.

The ecu is the manual ecu but the sensors you might have to change to match the harness if your going to use the 03 cl m/t engine harness.
