View Full Version : "During"- J32A2 into a 2000 LS
As you may have seen, my Integra was once a boosted LS/V fully built motor, built tranny, etc. In my quest for something much more drivable, I stumbled upon the "J swap" and began to read into it. Thanks to this site and many other resources I am well on my way.
Having been through a previous build I gave up on (K24A2 into DB2 GS-R)
Here's some pics of my old project I never finished

Anyway, you get the idea. Selling all of that was a real heartbreaker, so I'm in for the long haul with this build.

I will be building my own engine harness with one of these lil guys

ABS and heat will be kept and not much else. Feel free to express any opinions and ask me questions! Thanks in advance guys, I know I'll be asking some of you for help in the near future.

Looks good dude. I might need some pics of your timing side to assist me with my setup! I'm really interested to see how your wiring will turn out. That's a sweet looking quick disconnect.
I'm doing an '05 TL J32A3 into a 96 RS w/ the HASport kit.

haha, going in a 2000 LS, just reminiscing of my old car that was never finished :(
And paton, just let me know what you need pics of or whatever, I won't be working on this seriously for awhile (damn school). I am bringing my mounts to school though and I'm gonna see if I can't drop them an inch or so. I want the plastic cover to be fairly flush with the hood.

Very nice.......how much do you want that Mugen bumper for=)?
Very nice.......how much do you want that Mugen bumper for=)?
I sold it to some guy in Canada last year. That's the one thing I wish I kept from that build. The steering wheel went to a friend and the MR5's went to another friend. A friend from my college actually ended up with the chassis of the car. He bought it from the guy who bought it from me.
OT, prepped and painted some more stuff tonight to the dull cast aluminum look. Pretty much everything on the motor is going to be that dull color or gloss black. I'm hoping it looks pretty slick once it's all put together.

I like the circular connector for the harness. It looks like you are paying great attention to detail. Looking forward to the progress on this build.

nice shift knobs.
i luckily got to trade my old rsx 5speed knob straight up for an AP2 S2000 knob. OEM 6 speed goodness. woo! The weight of it is much better than the plastic rsx, makes shifting much easier.

Nice car/build. Just wondering if you used a special paint? Looks good but I like to Drive my cars hard and would be worried about the paint holding heat in. Did you address this or is it just that it's a dailly driver? I only ask because I'd be a good way clean an engine up if there's a way around the heat issue. I live in Texas too, so that's makes a difference. Either way it looks nice, with quality parts.

Yeah I used 500* engine enamel and cured it with a heat gun. It should hold up ok this year. Over the winter I am getting everything media blasted anyway. Thanks for the compliments.

Everything's still looking great man. I like what you've done with your brake lines.
I wasn't able to use the parts I bought from you, bummer. None of the CL-S parts are compatible with the newer DBW engines. I was trying to convert mine to cable throttle.
Do you have clearance issues with your rear exhaust contacting the lower frame brace?

I have a big question i have asked to a couple of different people using the plugs for custom harnesses.. what are they called and where did you get them???
I'll PM you tomorrow with all of the info I have.
Here's an update of where I'm at. Almost there now.
http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/LKSi89/DSCF1192.jpg?t=1273803204
Did some fab work today.
Made a bracket to get the clutch reservoir into a less conspicuous spot.
http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/LKSi89/Integra/DSCF1193.jpg
Looks much nicer/cleaner than stock IMO
http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/LKSi89/Integra/DSCF1194.jpg
You can also see my clutch hardline that I'm running through the fender
Then I made some brackets to mount my overflow can to my radiator. I didn't weld the brackets to the radiator because I like to be able to take stuff apart if I need to.
http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/LKSi89/Integra/DSCF1195.jpg
http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/LKSi89/Integra/DSCF1196.jpg
And here it is mocked up, I'll probably paint the brackets I made black.

http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/LKSi89/Integra/DSCF1198.jpg
I also confirmed that with this set-up (Civic style half core radiator), A B series lower radiator hose works well. All we had to do is cut off about an inch where it meets the radiator neck.
Screech`:)
06-11-2010, 10:47 PM
You ever heard of problems overheating with the mishimoto half core? I'm interested because I am planning on running same setup.
I had it on my turbo motor with no problems. In other news, started the car tonight open header... shoots flames.

Why? Time to take the engine bay to the next level.
I'm doing a pretty in depth shaved engine bay thread on my local forum, so I figured I'd post it up here too
I started by stripping down the front end of the car. I know I still have a lot to go.
http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/LKSi89/20101110171618.jpg
Marked off a bunch of holes I wanted to go goodbye
http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/LKSi89/DSCF3164.jpg
Ground the paint off of them (and sick orange primer)
http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/LKSi89/DSCF3165.jpg
Made some copper tools to put under the holes while I welded them
http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/LKSi89/DSCF3166.jpg
Laid down some birdshit welds in the holes
http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/LKSi89/DSCF3167.jpg
Then ground them smooth
http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/LKSi89/DSCF3168.jpg

I got it for much less.. slightly used. It seems pretty cool. I'm going to have AN fittings welded onto it so I can run AN lines.
I Took a while today to make a plug and play harness. The Cl-S 6 speed ECU has much different wiring than I had last year. So rather than spend the money on a conversion harness, I made my own.
Materials.. the white plug is from an RSX-S
http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/LKSi89/20101211143042.jpg
I matched all the wire colors to the CL-S rather than the RSX and got started
http://i1023.photobucket.com/albums/af356/LKSi89/20101211175153.jpg
All done.. only 4 wires need to be spliced in..
