Im starting to see a repetition of questions being asked on here and am wondering what you guys think of a user based FAQ section. By this i mean i will create a FAQ section and users can create their own threads with problems that they have the answers for or information regarding parts/setups they know work etc.
This would NOT be a place for questions to be asked in hopes that someone will answer it and it will turn into an FAQ. Questions should be asked in the technical questions section.
The FAQ section will be similar to the database section minus the discussion part. Once someone posts information and the information seems valid, the thread will then be locked and stickied. There may even be one thread in there stickied that wont be locked and people can ask questions or leave comments about a certain FAQ that they disagree with or dont understand etc. They can also bring it up with the original poster via pm and if the OP agrees with the persons contributing ideas or agrees that parts of the info they posted may be wrong, they can change their original post themselves.
If you guys have contributing ideas or would like to chime in or even think the idea is stupid let me know :) Just trying to create a way for the user to get a bit more involved (by creating their own write-ups etc) along with having a place with solid, easy to find info and cut down on all the repeated questions.
