(Yes i know this is a Re-Thread but i wasn't sure which section to put it under.)

So i found a J30A1 at a Wrecking Yard for 800 bucks, and i've been looking at doing one for a while i just haven't found one this cheap so now it is a deffinate yes.

Now for the fun stuff, i've some looking around on this site and found out that the basics of what i'm going to need are the Hasport J-Series Axles for my EF, the Motor Mounts, the Engine, Tranny, and ECU and harness, Karcepts Shifter Box and those related items (Not too sure there need to do lots more research) and thats basicly it.

Now i just went on Hasports website and found the mounts and was wondering if i will need to cut my hood, I don't really care if i cut it, i just want to know before hand so i can choose between a Carbon hood, Or do some sheet metal work on the one i have now to fit it.

Also the Wiring harness for the motor, will i need to custom make the harness, so i can still use my stock guage cluster, or does someone sell it. Or will i need to get a new guage cluster because i'm not sure if the Speedo is Cable or Electronic.. (Kinda new to the motor swap thing all i have right now is a Mini-Me but 4 needs to leave to make room for 6.

Haspost Axle's, I am confused on this part because in the Swap Tech, How To's part of this forum it said i needed to buy 2 sets of axles and make them, but on the hasport website it asked for my Chassis (89-91 Civic/CRX) and what type of Axle, (Level 2.9 or Entry Level)

Lastly, is there any real preformance market fot J-Series motors? Pistons, Rods, Heads, ect.? I'm planning on running N/A, High RPM's and as much power as i can make because its going to me Weekend Warrior (Auto-X), and my Spotlight Stealer (Show) car.

I think thats about it, but if anyone ran into any big machining issues who has done this on an EF Hatchback, or general issues please state them so i know what i'm up against lol. I'm gonna love doing this swap and i'm going to Auto-X the crap out of my car.

Thank ya guys!

IMO you should wait. the J30's are nearly as nice as the 32's. One main difference is the coil on plug.

That is the basic list yes

Depends which version of mounts you get. Version one is one fixed height, version 2 lets you go super low (to clear hood, but brings oil pan closer to ground) or higher (better axle angles i believe)

Hasport axles you don't have to modify. You can make your own J swap axles tho following the How To

Isn't much for aftermarket. Yet....
