The J-series is a 60 degree SOHC vtec v6 that was introduced in 1996 and found in 1997 and later Honda's and Acura's.

What about weight? How do they compare?

There have been several discussions aboout weights of the J engines and transmissions.
Gonna see what i can do about this. For anyone that still has there parts unassembled you could weigh engine (long block) or trans assy on a set of bathroom scales and help out with this research. I have an 08 short block I will weight this week.
