Hey there,

New to the site, have been researching this swap for awhile now, and am very bored with my swapped JDM H22A in my 92 prelude.

I was going to build the H, but I think this would be more of a challenge and unique. There is no one down her in Nova Scotia (Canada) that I am aware of that has done this at all, let alone in a prelude.

So I know this is a vage question, but I want to know of a list of everything I need, what would be best parts for the prelude as far as fitment, etc.

I have been told its not too bad in the prelude's, as the accords came with the j's. First big difference is the tranny is on the other side of the car than with the H on F's.

Also the ecu's and the imobilizer system, I can get arround that was just wondering what everyone else is doing to get around this, maybe easier then what I am doing.

I have been browsing other forum's and have seen that "RPM SYSTEMS" knows ALOT about this and recomend comming to this site.

Thanks in advance for the help,

Ray

I did the research years ago to do this swap in a prelude. but alot more info can be found because of the guys swapping them in the egs and eks.

I can tell you, you are probably going to have to remove the passenger side mount from the frame rail.

and will probably need a different front crossmember IE. Traction bars.

Other then that mounts, axles, wiring. all the stuff the civic guys went through.

http://honda-tech.com/showthread.php?t=1887794&page=1 this is from years ago. and alot of the bs and problems they talk about have been solved or werent real problems. I have a cls block and an accord tranny which has been sitting in my garage for years now. just dont have a car to do the swap to.

let me know how it works.

Thanks for the good luck....I am antisipating I am going to need it.

I am assuming that the issues they had years ago are almost obsolete now.

I have read your thread on h-t, thats what made me want to go ahead with it.

Where are you at with it now? Did you find a new prelude to continue this with yet?
Is there anyone out there that makes mounts for the swap yet?

I am picking up a 5th gen very soon. I am not sure if the project will start up again soon though.

No one makes mounts. I do think the fifth gen will be able to fit the J under the hood better then the EGs. but only time will tell

So it looks like I will be making mounts. Not a HUGE deal, but would make life alot easier if they made them.

We are also going to be doing this in a del sol at the same time. Its gonna be lots of fun!

The mounts aren't that easy. The front and rear cross members are different between the v6 accord and the 4 cylinder. even the side frame/bulkheads are differnt. even in an accord the v6 won't just bolt into a 4cyl frame.
