I finally got my swap to fire up today and it ran great for about 5 minutes, then the idle started fluctuating similar to that of a vacuum leak. As I was looking for a possible leak my tail pipe started billowing smoke.

I immediately shut the car off and the garage filled with smoke. Turns out the coolant had leaked into the cylinders and was getting burned up. Coolant was also pouring out of the throttle body opening and there was some stagnant coolant in the intake manifold.

I'm curious what could cause this? Afterwards the oil was not milky, and I have ruled out the possibility of a head gasket. I'm guessing that my coolant lines running to the throttle body are incorrect, or my IACV is malfunctioning?

Can anyone give me some insight or show me how the lines to the throttle body should be run? Thanks.

Scroll down I just posted this up the other day. Sound like you have a coolant line going into a vaccum port.

from the pictures it is kind of hard to tell what goes where...The port on the IAC and at the bottom of the throttle body are coolant ports yes? That would make the top port a vacuum port then; where does that port connect to?

the vac port on the top , you cap off . it was for the EVAP line to the car. the bottom coolant lines for the throttle body. you can run them but you dont have too. there just there to heat the throttle body up for the cold months. i would like to keep my intake system as cool as possible.

There is my error. I was planning to loop the IAC lines rather than running them too the tb, but I wanted to make sure everything was working appropriately first.

Thanks.
