I found this online. It's from an '02 TL-S

Will this work with my swap? (J32A3 into '96 Teg)

I thought all of the Type S TL's were manual. But now that I'm thinking about it seems unlikely. I shall research.

OK so the Type S came in manual and automatic. Picking an ECU is so confusing. The one I have pictured above has the 20 pin on the other side.

OK, can anyone tell me what ECU's can be used with this motor? I know the PGE-A12 is the ideal choice but it's too expensive and difficult to locate in salvage yards. Are there any others that I can use with my engine without throwing codes?

the twenty pin on the other side is something on the automatic ecus. no matter what ecu you use you are going to throw some codes unless you do a bunch of stuff to prevent it. as far as using the automatic you can use the richie v6 module or whatever it is called to trick the ecu and if you use the manual assuming you have all the manual sensors then it will just throw a code for the secondary O2 sensor, one because of the immobolizer and one for the IAB unless you get the control unit from the driver side kick panel and wire it all up. also as far as choosing which ecu to use with your motor the easiest thing to do is to use to the automatic ecu and harness with the engines that came out of the automatics and the manual ecu and harness with the engines that came out of the manual. unless you have an engine out of an automatic and wana use the manual stuff then you have to buy a bunch of stuff from behind the timing belt cover to convert the engine and a manual harness and ecu

Very informative reply. I have a manual engine from an '05 TL. It's the J32A3.

The engine was removed with the trans attached. All sensors are present minus the air temp, map and IACV. The throttle body is there but it is TBW and I'm going to try and use a cable TB from a later model civic with the IACV as well.

So, because I won't run TBW I can't use the ECU intended for the engine. (Unless I can somehow)

The CL-S ECU (from what I've been told) will work excellent but it is very expensive and even harder to find. There is a plethora of TL-S ECU's on ebay so I was hoping I could use one of those.

I have no idea what plugs I will need at the ECU and I was hoping I could cut up a harness from something at the wreckers and wire it into my harness I have now. I would like to avoid buying another harness because I already have the one from the motor. I'd rather make 100+ wire splices than spend hundreds on another harness.

Can I PM you with some other questions?

Get a CL-S throttle body, they are very cheap on Ebay....20 to 40$, plus they are 65mm I think, Civic and Integras are gonna be way smaller.
