I remember reading on here that j series and d series share the same bolt patterns. I test fitted a spare d16z6 tb onto my j32a2 and it fit, but obviously the bore size was significantly smaller.

My question is,.....would this mean that we can use aftermarket h series and b series throttle bodies also? If so, what would you do about an iacv because there isnt one on the h or b throttle body, only a FITV?

Lastnight i test fit a gsr tb and it fit fine. The gsr tb bore size is actually bigger than the non type-s tb for the j32. Anyone know what issues we would face if we bypassed the j series iacv?

I would guess a slight idle issue and another CEL.

very possible it will have a cel, but hopefully ill have an answer for that soon.

wont have a cel, idle will be all over the place and car would stall from time to time.

you can use the BLOX 72mm b-series throttle body. and as far as the iacv, you need a piece of aluminum 1/4 thick . two 3/8 barb fitting to 1/8 npt . well you cut the aluminum to fit on the iacv . drill and tap the three holes to screw the iacv to . before putting them together , mark two holes for the barb fittings. look at pic below.

now you don't have to run the coolant , unless you are planing to run the car all year round in really cold weather. there's a PVC hose on the back of the intake . disconnect the hose from the PVC and let it vent out . the other side of the hose that connected to the intake run to one of the barb fittings . and the other side run a hose to the air filter or let it vent in . i have done this and it work . will get some photos of the customers car that i did it on and put them up for you to enjoy.

Back when I was having IACV issues after the 3.7 IM swap I ended up blocking off the valve. The idle was perfectly smooth. No surging, no stalling. If you're running A/C or P/S (doubtful with a swap), the idle will dip though because there is not valve to open.

And to avoid the CEL I ripped the IACV motor off a dead valve and plugged it into the harness and tucked it to the side. I know its ghetto but it worked.

this does work, when my iacv whent out and didnt want to pay 250 for new one, i took a pepsi can and cut a square peice to fit and works perfect with no idle issues and still driving car to work daily, kinda getto but it works
