Ok soo i was putting everything together and the transmission will not fit flush against the engine.

Here is all the information that i have. Without the clutch bolted up, the transmission fits just fine. With the clutch bolted to the flywheel, there is about a 1/2" of space between the block and transmission when trying to fit it together. I have turned the trans and motor while attempting to bolt them together, i have wiggled, twisted, turned both the motor and trans...etc everything i can think of to "shimmy" the trans onto the engine but it just will not go. I have also checked the pilot bearing with the nose of the input shaft and they fit.

I have checked the splines from the disc and input shaft - they are good. I can even spline the disc on the input shaft and install the trans (minus the pressure plate) and it will fit...but as long as i have that pressure plate bolted up, there is still a problem.

Engine: 2002 TL-s "auto"
Transmission: 2004 TL 6mt
Clutch: Exedy/LuK
Flywheel: LuK DM

Hopefully its simple and im just having an idiot moment but if anyone has had this issue, pleeaasseee help me. lol

as far as i can tell those parts will fit together fine. Make sure you have the throwout bearing, and piviot installed correctl, so that when it is pressing on the pressure plate, it is moving the piviot fork.

Thanks for the info. finally got it on today. The magic formula was

1. wiggle
2. twist
3. turn
4. shimmy
5. swear
6. pray

All at the same time. lol
