hi guys, im new to the j swap but definitely thinking about embarking on this journey:p. well ive been doing a lot of research lately reading through lots of threads but have yet to come across anyone doing a j35a7 swap. i have come across this longblock for cheap and was really interested in purchasing it but have yet to read anything about this engine. does anyone have any feedback regarding this longblock? is it a good place to start or am i just wasting my time? any info would be greatly appreciated.

Drive By Wire...and it also has the cylinder management. Not sure if that would be fun to deal with in regards to the electronics. DBW motors are starting to be swapped ie: J32A3. so, there is some info on swapping DBW on this site.
Much easier and sure fire swap is the J32A2, or J35A3/A4. Both use cable throttle body. However, if you can get the J35A7 longblock cheap, grab it for parts. You might be able to use the low end and swap the heads to A2/A3/A4 which would allow you to port and polish the top end for maximum flow.
**takes a while for the experts to chime in...give it time.

well i dont know if its cheap but im getting it for 400$ thats cheap to me:p comes with a harness and ecu but the ecu and harness are from a tl so i guess ill have to read up some more on it. i know rpm systems makes a DBW harness im just weary as to wether a j32a tl-s tranny or accord tranny will work on it. thanks for your reply to this thread any little piece of info helps me a lot

j35a7 I have seen in the Honda minivans and it will not fit the accord 6MT J30a4 or the tl j32a3 6MT transmission...it will fit the j35a8 6MT transmission (2007 tl-s and 2008 tl-s)....
everybody uses the older j35 because the bell housing mates to the transmission (accord and tl 6MT's)perfectly...
also the engine is dbw and you would need a harness of some sort to get rid of the vcm....or ditch the j35a7 ecu and use a j35a8 ecu(2007 TL Type S)....

Well I have a 05 tl ecu and 05 tl harness So the only transmission available for this motor is a 07-08 that has to be a pretty rare trans. if the older 1s are

what you are trying to do is like TLDREAMS swap in his prelude . i built the harness for his car and it works great . you can hit him up and ask. the biggest problem with that engine is you will have to find a j35a8 6 speed ecu with matching key. if you can find them the rest is a walk in the park .

im no longer trying to swap that motor i got discouraged since i had to buy a 07-08 tl-s tranny i much rather go with a different longblock. the prices on those trannys must be ridiculous. thanks for the input guys but im just going with a good ol' j32;)
