I'm looking for advise to build up my motor. I know Honda changed many things on the j37 vs the previous j32's and j35s...
I know there likely won't be any cam swaps due to the new complex nature of the cam in this motor, but can I still deck the head, and port the valves (new springs retainers) etc?
I've already port matched the runners, and I'm looking for a solution for the IM.
TB should provide plenty of flow at 85mm inlet, (can't recall the IM side).
What are you guy's thoughts on motor mods on the j37 at this time?

As an FYI...
Like I already mentioned above the runners are cleaned up and port matched for flow.
P2R IM gasket, P2R TB spacer, and gasket, takeda SRI, J-pipe and 3rd cat delete already in.
Looking for motor options at this time

did you bore out the T/B to 85mm?
Stock is 80mm inlet, 70mm at the T/B plate.

Port matching is never a good thing! Also you dont want to deck the motor at all, this will change the timing of the motor and since parts are limited for the 3.7 at this time setting proper timing would be hard if not impossible at this time.

good point. That's why we raise compression as high as we can from the pistons.
My 3.5 has the 2005 Acura RL pistons @ 10:5. But, have never checked compression since the swap. Couldn't give you an idea of the compression the build yielded. Most likely nothing over 11:1. ;)

sorry for my long timed reply... I took the measurements a long time ago. regarding the TB - I guess I was really looking for feedback what can be done with this motor as there isn't too much info out yet.

U want real performance? Put that heavy beast on a diet! As I have done with my cl, carbon everything, seats new exhaust wheels hood trunk, suspension there is way to much crap n these new cars, with that awd u can destroy other cars. Audi is doing it now with lighter cars n less horsepower n smoking them check the stats u will see!
