Im about to purchase an 02 tl type s engine, wiring harness, and ecu. Is there any reasons why i wouldnt be able to use this setup?

BTW, im also using a 03 accord 6sp trans.

Also, how do i identify the ecu and engine as the correct type-s ones.

You will be fine as long as the ECU and engine are from an auto setup.

Don't forget Alt., axles, mounts etc... Any thing you don't use can be sold (ebay, craig's list) What ever they'll give you with out charging if you know what I mean. I got a manual swap and sold extras for enough to buy my new clutch.

Already planned on that. Hahaha. Also, im only paying $550 out the door this setup with 78k miles on it.

if you are able to take parts off of the car you need to get the IAB control box from the driver side kick panel in the car . and i know somebody that looking for the cradle and front suspension such as knuckles control arms etc.

one way you can tell the difference between type s and base model is if it has the IAB motor with a cable running to a butterfly wheel on the side of the manifold opposite side of the throttle body and the IAB motor is on the backside of the rear plenum. the base models didnt have that

personally i would just take the cover off of the ecu and break the immobilizer board off, we did it in mine and it runs fine, unless you are extremely worried bout somebody trying to steal your car in which if somebody wants a car bad enough its not going to matter if it has an immobilizer or not but also the stuff that works with the immobilizer really isnt of any use unless you have the key to the car or can take the vin number to an acura dealership and let them make you a key for about 90 bucks i think
hope that helps

I just got back after a 9hr trip to michigan and back. We got everything that we could, but now i need manual flywheel bolts, iab controller, and an alternator. If anyone has these, let me know.

Btw, they have 2 cradle assemblies with knuckles and brakes still, for $200 each.

sweet deal. Hope you can get the speedo and stuff to work out. I am running an '03 tl-s setup with accord trans ;)

why do you say that? Is there a difference making the speedo work with the accord trans vs. the cl trans?

I paid $550 for a complete 02 tl-s longblock with complete uncut harness and ecu with 78k on it. Not too bad i think.
