Ive talked to seibon... if we can get a minimum of 10 orders they will make hoods... Im waiting to see how the innovative mounts turn out... They are supposed to sit a bit lower and back which may help with hood situations...not fix!...but help :P

That would be one hell of a cowl for an EF.

How much oilpan clearnace is there on the EG hasport mounts?
Is it at all possible to lower the motor down some like i did with my K ef?
I have no problem spacing the hood a little but i do not want a hole haha.
I can also deal with the car not being to low as well.

I have about 5-6 inches ground clearance. I still haven't rain-proofed my engine yet, but it should be soon.

This is the only thing that sucks about this swap is the hood clearance. Luckily where I live, it's legal to drive w/o a hood but still I'm a low pro type.

If they could make a raised hood for the Del Sol I would be in.

I dont think they will ever make a kit for the Ef..... you are looking at something custom.

They told me the same story about mounts for my Ek........last year.

If you can make hoods for dc's as well, I would be interested.
i cant beleave there is so much comotion for a hood... i didnt get to that part yet but the is the very very least of my worries there are so many options between oem hood bumps from eclipses, talons, neon r/t, M bmws, the list goes on some cutting and welding and bondo, if not there are TONS of scoops from either aftermarket or oem ,wrx, and if thats not enought u can always make a hood bump or scoop out of fiberglass... beleave me its not that hard to work with once you get used to it.....My major opinion about moving the height of the mounts is people can say want they want about hasport but they have good r&d they must have given the ground clearence they did for a reason, i just dont see the point.....
*****FOR THE RECORD I WOULD DEFFINATLY BE IN FOR A PRE-MADE ONE THO LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.... im lazzzzyyyyyy

said it before, i'll say it again: i think the best option is something that flows with the original body lines/hood lines to each chassis. EK and EG (including del sol) have a slight raise in the center, while DC/DB have the opposite.
For an integra i think the best option would be a smooth bulge like the 03 Cobra R mustang. may make the front end too bubbly, but it could be pulled off with the same body lines around the wheel wells, only instead of sinking down in the center of the hood, it would rise.
EG and EK can get away with the same body lines as OEM, just with a more aggressive bump.
And for aftermarket options like cowls the EK pulls it off best.

I'm in the same boat as jtrix, I think the EF and EK hoods can be raised at the body line

i think the engine sticking out of the hood is the best looking way but for alot of people it isnt practical say for instance you dont have a garage to keep it in or are like me and have to keep it under a car cover all the time which is a pain in the ass however i think what adam is doing with his will look good when its all done

you said you need a minimum of ten people, the thing that im wondering is you could get ten people but they would have to be for the same chassis right. you couldnt have like 5 for an eg 3 for an ek 2 for a dc. its a minimum of ten pre chassis is probally what seibon wants.
i agree the look of the engine sticking out the hood it nice but the thing that worries me is the exposed oil cap. if you could switch the valve covers around so the oil cap is in the back under the hood it would be nice. to not have to worrie about it. with the way society is today, you never now what people might do. someone could see your car and take your oil cap off pour something in it or even grab rocks or dirt on the ground and throw them in your oil.

x2 which is why i had asked about the p:jdm oil cap and experience with it.
To be honest though, i'd feel a whole lot more comfortable with a choice to have it exposed or not.
i do a lot of highway driving and i keep thinking about rocks/dirt from cars in front, and then wind.

I am running and aftermarket oil cap and the plastic valve cover cover so you can't unscrew the oil cap :)

^^^ me too lol. i need pliers to get the cap off.
I dont mind the cut out hood but then again i dont drive the car everyday. Would be interested if it flows with the body lines nice.

What do you guys think about this hood?
I added a bolt on scoop but was convinced to permanently bond it to the hood instead:

Made a mold of it after it was bonded to the hood. Let me know if anyone is interested in one.
Much thanks to Dennis for his amazing skills and all the work he did to make this hood a reality!

what does it take to "water proof" the engine. without the distributer shouldnt u be good with a little bit of water leaking in?

nothing is gonna happen to the motor and you dont have to worry about the motor getting wet and running like shit cuz theres no distributor in this swap

I'd like A sir hood for my Ef that sticks up more than it normaly does. That would be nice. I believe the 3.5 sticks up 5 inches over the stock clearence. And that's what I'm working for. I don't want my engine showing. I'd rather sleep on people.

for the most part these engines are "water proof". The eletrical connections are. Exposed CAI filters are prone to gettig water logged. When water evaporates is ht engine it leaves small deposits on the aluminum. The further north you go, the more crap you find in the water coming off the road(salt).
The drier the engine bay is the better off you are in the long run.
