well honda tunning said it could not be done , well i proved them wrong i have a line of plug and play harness comming out for drive by wire systems. prices are being worked on but now you will be able to use the 04 - 06 tl type-s j32a3 engines in your car. here is some photos of the car and wiring. the reason for the DBW setup too is the ECU is totally reflashable .

just wondering hows this going?
when you talk about the re-flash ability of these ecus, are you able to change things yourself per say or just referring to the future potential of such ability?
i ask this because the the dbw system would be great to be able to control in the capacity of traction control for higher hp setups, or anyone who doesn't want just a tire spinning machine.
the ecu probably already contains the data for traction control, as it is available on most of the dbw cars, and i don't recall seeing any separate control units for traction control.
although not for everyone it is very useful if it is controllable.
just thought it would be cool. especially for turbo setups, and auto setups, and anyone with high hp who doesn't like snapping axles or likes seeing decent 1/4 mile times and 60ft times.

as you , 00crv6 , know 06 and up are now all CAN base ecu systems. you should be able to go into the ECU though the HDS you have and setup certain factors for the system. the group i have been talking to in the UK have been hacking CAN systems for a while now , due to VW and Audi have been running those types of systems for over 10 years. i got a program from the group call CAN HACKER . it allows you to get into the ecu base code . it reads out in hex , but you can watch in real time what changes are going on. this will be the way we will be hacking the unit.
also like to add , that hondata reflashed the honda truck which came with a j35a8 engine DBW . so it is possible to have it done.

yea, but nothing practical for tuning. i can only do what honda lets me do, like check individual system function. you know this though.
actually i think you may have certain features unlocked that i need codes from honda to unlock each time its used. i.e. immob... depending where you got yours.
i did look into honda training on controller area networks-CAN, as a, ummm, refresher. and found some possibly usefull information:
all important drive train functions/data transfer between multiple control units is on the F-CAN line which is a very high speed com line @ 500kb/s vs.
B-CAN for body functions or multiplex controls which is 33.3kb/s.
and all reprogramming is done through the F-CAN ports in the DLC
Vehicles with F-CAN at the DLC (OBD2 port) (Cavities 6 & 14)
Model Year
Honda Acura
2006
Civic, S2000 None
2007
Add Fit, Odyssey, TL, RDX, & MDX
CR-V, & Element
2008
All Cars All Cars
also,
DLC Terminal 12 is the write enable terminal, and is only used for PCM reprogramming.During the re-flash process, the scan tool sends a signal through this terminal to unlock the memory of the PCM and allow engine control data to be re-written.Note: If terminal 12 is not present, the PCM cannot be re-flashed.
also,
the immobilizer system uses it's own dedicated line called S-NET
you may already know all this or it may not be that useful to what your doing, but i thought it interesting for tuning at the least.

Im in the process on labeling all the wires that is needed for the swap between a J32a2 engine and a EK civic dx. i have labeled all the wires for connector A, expect one wire seems to be messing, its on Pin 22 "SEAF".
should i just find all the wires that r compatible with the civic and connector A for the TL and wire up, and leave Connect B and C Connected, since connector B and C control mostly the engine.... Connector D is for automactic so i just leave it unplugged. will there be anything specific to wire...
The engine i have is from a type S and it comes with the matching ECU. Would this ECU works with this swap. What can i do to make it work, or what should i get to make it work.
Also i see that Connector B for the civic has most of the wires needed for connector A for the TL, and some wires or on connector A of the civic, so i have to find the wires anywhere on the connectors for the civic and match up for connector A of the Tl..
I know its a lot of questions, but i just want to have all the info and dont make mistakes and un-necessary purchase..
Thanks Don.. you could email me an answer this this at rohan.smiley12@gmail.com thanks again

So your saying someone has cracked the TL DBW ecu and has the software to tune it?
Give me some links or info on this.
