Ok, heres my issue. I got everything wired up, tried to start it the srter kicked in for a second ort two then it goes to clicking. there is a small ground wire on the right side of the car ( right where the hook is for the motor lift) i traced it back to the big plug in the back of the engine that goes to nothing. It absolutey fried this wire. there is no rubber on it, it smokes when it try to start the car. What are your opinons? Im thinking its a ground issue, but checked them all and ant find anything. any help. Thanks Guys

Here we go...It starts at the top, where its grounded, or what I think is a ground, and it goes to the blank connector its the lower one, Looks like they are all on a loop when I take the plug off the connector. It was defialtey gettig power to that oe because it fried it. I have been tryig to figure it out, now its not even turing over. its just clicking at the under the hood fuse box.

Ok update.... I tested the power wires around the starter they all work. pos side of battery to starter getting power, all fuses under hood box getting power. starter sigal wire getting power at starter when key is turned, however, I tested the fuse in the car for the starter signal and it doest show to be getting power, is this because its spliced into the existing harness, I think it would still show power in the fuse box. Is there a starter relay somewhere?

Replace the ground wire.. run a ground from one of the starter bolts to the chassis. Try it again. Also make sure you have the tranny, block and heads grounded.

I had the same issue and melted the same wire. i ran a new wire and cleaned all my grounds and added a huge ground from the engine the the chassis. this took care of the issue for me. everything that happened to you is exactly what happened to me.

Welp got her started, well temporarily. It was a ground issue. ran a new wire, and put a few more grounds to the chasis. Seems now I have a fuel pump problem, not kickin on, but thats a easier fix than not startin. Thanks for the info guys
